George Beverly Shea turns 103 today. He is best known as the baritone voice that has accompanied Billy Graham on his evangelistic crusades since 1947.
Shea was born in 1909 in Winchester Ontario to a Methodist preacher, and became a Christian himself at an early age. Working for the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association for over 60 years has given Shea the chance to sing in front of millions, and has even earned him the Guinness World record of singing in front of the most people.
Last December Author Randy Alcorn visited the headquarters of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association where Shea lead a group of people in singing “How Great Thou Art.”
Shea still lives with his wife, Karlene, just down the road from his lifelong friend Billy Graham.
